Driving through the beautiful high scale homes being built in Ammon Idaho one will notice that most of these homes have a full or partial stucco exterior. Idaho Falls offers up many stucco contractors but which one do you choose? I chose the wrong one. A year after I paid over $40,000 for a full stucco exterior, cracks formed, holes formed and the stucco looked horrible. I called the contractor who wouldn’t return my phone calls. When he did, he refused to come and look at the damage.

A good stucco company in Idaho Falls is obviously hard to find. I called 12 stucco companies yesterday!
The stats are below:
1- answered and said he would call back … never did.
1 - answered and said their wait list was 2 months long and they didn’t want any more work.
1 - answered and said he would call me back on Tuesday.
9 - left voice mails and still haven’t heard back.
Not great results. I finally got in touch with a friend of the handyman I hired. He came and looked at my stucco problems and said he could fix them. He mentioned he had gotten into the stucco business because he had the same results as I had above. He needed a home stucco’ed and no one called him back so he took matters into his own hands.
When he is done with the job and does it well… I will post his name and phone number here.
Make sure to contact me if you want to know the name of the worst stucco company in town. Story soon to come.
I built a house in Ammon Idaho and it needed the lawn hydro seeded and an automatic sprinkler system put in. Being the responsible consumer I am, I called many different places in Idaho Falls. I called five places which resulted in three different landscaping quotes ranging from $3,000 - $15,000. I didn’t know any of these companies and I selected the middle bid because the young man that came out to bid seemed competent. I choose CJ Landscape. Chris Hanosky came to my property and did a fabulous job with the sprinklers and hydro seed. This was in September of 2007. He told me that he would place me on his list and come back in the spring and do some hydro seed touch up’s and turn on and test the automatic sprinklers.
It is now May and for those of you who live in Idaho Falls, you know it snowed yesterday. It’s not time to turn on the sprinklers quite yet. When I called Chris Hanosky at CJ Landscape, he returned my call and assured me that I was on his list and as soon as it stopped snowing he would be out to my property.
I have had a lot of trouble with this home I built. I plan on telling the story on this blog. Chris Hanosky at CJ Landscape was one of the best Idaho Falls contractors I had the experience to work with.

So back to my lovely home in Ammon. The origional stucco company really screwed up my stucco and ended up blaming the general contractor. I want to keep this blog light and positive and would be more than happy to report the crappy stucco company if you would just email me. Maybe one day, I will be so bitter that I will put the “bad businesses of Idaho Falls” on this blog.
Anyway, back to the stucco, gigantic holes in the stucco line the soffet and facia and it needs FIXED ASAP. I am on the hunt for a stucco company and so far I haven’t had a lot of luck. I have called over 10 and received no phone calls back.
The hunt is on and I’ll keep this updated with the best stucco sub-contractor I find.

I built a home out in the Cottages in Ammon Idaho, I have some buyers that want to lease option the home. I wanted to get a handyman out there and put in a mailbox and fix up a few small things to make sure my new renters feel at home. A Google search for “idaho falls handyman” returns 3 options.
I tried those three, left a message and never received a call back or a follow-up call detailing the price. My dad had mentioned he had seen an advertisement in the Post Register for a handyman and gave me James at A1 Handyman. I gave him a ring and he returned my call and met up. We walked through the house yesterday and he seemed very competent and helpful.
I am going to give James a try and then post his number if he does a great job.
